Change

It has been a while since my last blog, due to the fact that I have been so sick. I have had a terrible, awful, no good, very bad monster of a virus that I have been battling for 2.5 weeks now! Finally today I was able to get out of the house and feel like a normal person, PTL!!!
I must give credit where credit is due by saying that my Fiance has truly been amazing these last few weeks! I have sent him to Walgreen's, CVS, Wal-mart, Target and basically any store that sales medicine, Popsicles and soup! He has showed me what an amazing husband and partner he will make and I could not be happier to be spending my life with him! Let's just say I owe him big time!!! (Thank goodness he does not get sick very often!!) haha
Ok, so on to more important matters... you are probably wondering why the title of this blog is called "change". Well, change is exactly what is going on in my life right now and I could not be more excited about it. For the past ten months I have been working in an office for an aviation company that my dad introduced to me when I was very desperate for a job. Let me just say I am VERY thankful to this company for taking a chance on me even though all my work experience was with children and my college degree is in elementary education. Going into this job was difficult for me, because I am so passionate about teaching and working with children. I knew that it would be a difficult transition for me. Over the past ten months I have been working in inside sales, I have tried to find enjoyment in the work that I was doing but I just could not get the spark that I wanted. A few weeks ago I made the decision to look for something I could be more passionate about, and after discussing it with Sawyer, I decided that I wanted to be a full-time nanny. To some this may sound silly, why would I want to sit around all day caring for someone else's kid?! Well, to me it is such an amazing and rewarding job to help raise and teach a child. To start this process I decided to use a site dedicated to finding families home help, I created a profile and was on my way. I really wanted to find a family that had an infant, I just feel that it is easier to start out with a child when they are very young, so they can be comfortable with me. Shortly after creating my profile I found a family that I was interested in speaking to, I got in touch with them and went on an interview shortly after. One interview turned into two, and a second interview turned into a working interview, and finally after what seemed like a very long journey, I was offered the position. I understood completely why the parents were so careful and selective during this process. I will be the person responsible for the most precious gift of their life...for this, you can never be to careful! I am beyond excited to be staring down this new path and working with such a great family and their precious newborn son. I feel like God had a hand in this whole situation and the timing is really perfect. I have had to be patient and just let everything play out...which is difficult for me, but it is worth it now.
I am looking forward to my changes and cant wait to see how it all turns out!!
If you have any advice for me, please share...especially my fellow nanny pals!!!
xoxo
Blair
